Activity Purpose/ Summary:
We conducted an introductory YUMP (Youth Unleashed Mentorship Program) session at Ken Obura Secondary School. The primary focus of this session was to introduce the program and discuss the first topic on Values. The objective was to help students unlock their potential by exploring and understanding their core values. The students actively participated in the session, engaging with the material and discussions enthusiastically. Their involvement was evident through their contributions and feedback.

Personnel Input:
Samambo facilitated the session, while Jule and Anna provided the much-needed backup during the session.

Achievements:
– Students gained insights into the importance of values and how these can influence personal development and decision-making.
– The students provided valuable feedback on the session and suggested topics and issues they would like addressed in future sessions. This feedback will be instrumental in developing a curriculum that meets their needs and interests.

Unanticipated Achievements:
– The session unexpectedly generated specific ideas and topics from the students themselves for the curriculum, ensuring the content is relevant and engaging.
– The session helped boost the confidence of several students, as evidenced by their increased willingness to speak up and share their thoughts openly.
