Activity Purpose/ Summary:
Due to the demonstrations, we couldn’t hold our usual swimming classes. As a result, we took half of the kids from the boarding school to the swimming pool (the other half went on Tuesday). During this session, the kids had the opportunity to play and work on their swimming skills independently. They were free to do whatever they wanted during their time at the pool, under the supervision of the facilitators.
Personnel Input:
We took half of the kids from the boarding school to the pool. Before they entered the pool, we explained the rules again and divided the group into the smaller and taller kids. The taller kids were allowed to go in the big pool and the smaller kids went into the smaller pool. The facilitators split up between both pools. This wasn’t a “normal” class because it was a group with a big age gap, so we had a fun swimming class where we focused on playing with them. After an hour, everyone changed and we went back to the center.
Achievements:
All of the kids had a lot of fun in the water, and the team spirit was great. Most of them helped each other when someone needed assistance or wanted to try something new. It was an awesome bonding time for both the kids and the facilitators.
Unanticipated Achievements:
Many of the kids remembered the swimming techniques from previous lessons, and some were eager to show their progress to the facilitators. Additionally, some students tried to improve their technique and asked for help and suggestions.
