This event brought together Practising Psychologists from Kisumu County to discuss issues relevant to the delivery of their services, and emerging trends to create a stronger platform that fosters collaboration.

Personnel Input:
We co-facilitated debriefing sessions in collaboration with Soulevement, this involved unpacking the psychologist’s feelings and emotions to be able to help them serve their clients better and to also make sense of their thoughts and feelings related to experiences encountered while offering services.

It involved a structured and guided discussion where individuals had the opportunity to reflect on their thoughts, emotions, and reactions to childhood experiences.

Achievements:
– Psychologists shared personal experiences, promoting self-reflection and understanding. all the participants emphasized the importance of self-care, acknowledging the need for breaks to maintain mental and emotional well-being
– The platform served as a safe space for therapists to share practical experiences openly. Professionals found comfort in discussing challenges, fostering a sense of togetherness among peers.
– The open discussions led to collaborative problem-solving, with therapists collectively addressing challenges faced in trauma counseling. This unexpected synergy provided a valuable platform for brainstorming and innovation.

Unanticipated Achievements:
The event not only met its goal of professional development but also emerged as a powerful tool for community building. Participants expressed a newfound sense of unity and purpose, transcending the professional sphere.
