Activity Purpose/ Summary:
We organized a friendly game for this day.

Personnel Input:

We picked up the boys from Nyalenda at 2 p.m. and took them to the Remand Home, where the boys were eagerly waiting for us. It was raining heavily, so we had to wait until it subsided.

Meanwhile, the boys put on their jerseys and prepared for the upcoming game. After a short warm-up, we started the match between the older boys of Nyalenda Young Stars and the Remand Home around 3 p.m. The match was divided into two halves, each consisting of 30 minutes. Both teams had 8 players. After the first half, the score was 2-0 in favor of the Remand Home boys. Nyalenda Young Stars scored a goal in the second half, but it was not enough to equalize. The game ended with a result of 2-1 in favor of the Remand Home boys. After the game, some of us gave a short speech to motivate and praise all the boys and conducted a little cool-down.

Achievements:

This friendly match provided an opportunity for the boys to apply the skills they have learned in training. They learned how to function as a team, experiencing both wins and losses collectively. The match emphasized values such as discipline, fairness, respect, and motivation. Both teams aimed to bring out the best in themselves.

However, some of the Nyalenda boys appeared unfocused and failed to maintain their positions, resulting in gaps. They struggled to switch quickly from offense to defense. This observation can be utilized in the next training sessions to address and improve these aspects.

Unanticipated Achievements:
Although it was raining so strong, both teams were still motivated to play football. Both sides played fair and stayed respectful. The dynamic was great!
