Activity Purpose/ Summary:
The purpose of our life skills session at Shauri Moyo was to facilitate an interactive talk and activities toward the topic of healthy relationships. Our aim was to give the students a general idea of what it means to be in a healthy relationship and to create awareness in them about their own values in relationships. Summing up, we wanted to create a space of appreciation to conclude our last session at the school for this term.

Personnel Input:
In this interactive session on healthy relationships, the kids engaged in thought-provoking discussions and activities exploring what it means to have healthy connections with family, friends, and oneself. They pondered questions about the nature of “healthy” relationships and experienced the “Yes and No” game, where they stood or remained seated to express their agreement or disagreement with statements about healthy relationship behaviors. Additionally, the kids delved into their personal beliefs and values in relationships, recognizing the importance of self-awareness in this context.

The activity culminated in the Appreciating Circle, where they expressed gratitude for themselves, their peers, and their environment. The session fostered a deeper understanding of the various elements that contribute to nurturing and maintaining healthy relationships.

Achievements:
We expanded the perspective of the children towards the difference between a healthy and an unhealthy relationship and created more awareness towards their own values.

Unanticipated Achievements:
The students were participating very well and it was a very interactive and lively session.
