Activity Purpose/ Summary:
The purpose of the session was to discuss identity and diversity with the younger boys, making them aware of the different nuances of the topic.

Personnel Input:
We started the session with a dynamic warm-up in which the children with the same interest or characteristic had to change their positions. The game was meant to be an introduction to the topic. So we started to define identity, followed by an exercise in which everyone had to write three words that describe themselves or that make them unique on a little piece of paper. We collected all the papers and read them out loud one by one. Everyone in the group had to guess to whom the description belongs.

After that, we explained diversity and talked about the different areas and influences that lead to diversity. We showed them videos concerning the topic.

At the end of the lesson, they should draw a picture of themselves and their interests.

Achievements:
We have established a foundation of knowledge about the topic of diversity, which is crucial for the children living in the Remand Home, as they are surrounded by children from different backgrounds. This is intended to help them learn to accept others’ interests, personalities, and backgrounds.

Unanticipated Achievements:
The children’s drawings showed that they understood the topic.
