Activity Purpose/ Summary:
In today’s English class, our aim was to support the reading and text comprehension abilities of the children. Therefore, we focused on teaching new vocabulary and pronunciation that the children encountered while reading the texts.

Personnel Input:
Warm-Up Activity:The lesson began with a lively warm-up using tongue twisters. This helped improve English pronunciation and fluency.

Reading Exercise:
In small groups, students read texts of different difficulty levels, focusing on silent reading, reading aloud, and copying unfamiliar vocabulary words into their notebooks.

Cool-Down Game: Name Ten:
The lesson concluded with the “Name Ten” game, where students in small groups competed to list as many words as possible in a given category.

These activities made for a productive and enjoyable class, advancing the children’s reading and text comprehension skills.

Achievements:
The students read through a full text. Some of them were able to do that without any assistance. The kids also worked together in groups, which improved their teamwork ability.

Unanticipated Achievements:
We gained more insights into the reading abilities of the children, which revealed that there is much room for improvement. This helps us identify our focus for the next time.
