Activity Purpose/ Summary:
The stakeholders’ meeting held at the DCC’s boardroom aimed to enhance collaboration among stakeholders associated with the Kisumu West Children’s Office. The meeting addressed several key agenda items:

1. Introduction of Stakeholders/Partners: The meeting began with stakeholders and partners introducing themselves and providing an overview of their scope of work. This allowed for better understanding and identification of potential areas for collaboration.

2. Brief about Child Protection Volunteers and Call for Applications: The Children’s Officer briefed the attendees about the importance of child protection volunteers and announced a call for applications. Members were encouraged to spread the word to ensure widespread participation.

3. Planning for the Day of African Child: A significant portion of the meeting was dedicated to planning for the upcoming Day of African Child, celebrated on June 16th annually. Discussions revolved around selecting a suitable venue and allocating budgetary resources. It was agreed upon that a budget would be shared to facilitate organizations in identifying ways to support the event.

4. Welcome of Better Me Organization: Better Me was officially welcomed as a new member of the Kisumu West stakeholders. A brief overview of Better Me’s scope of work was provided, enhancing understanding among the participants about the organization’s role in the collective effort for child welfare.

Overall, the meeting served as a platform for fostering collaboration, sharing updates, and planning future initiatives aimed at safeguarding the rights and well-being of children in Kisumu West.

Being part of the planning discussions for the upcoming Day of the African Child celebration allows Better Me to actively contribute ideas, resources, and support towards the event. This involvement not only strengthens Better Me’s relationship with other stakeholders but also showcases its dedication to promoting children’s rights and well-being.
