Activity Purpose/ Summary:
Upon arrival, all the kids, staff of the Children’s home, and volunteers gathered in the hall for introductions and a time for spiritual nourishment. We later developed groups called “knowledge academies” where the children had a chance to interact with the volunteers, discussing different things including talents, academics, life skills, and menstrual hygiene. This division was done according to age group. We later had time for fun and games for each group. They had a break for snacks and then we organized our signature talent show.

Personnel Input:
Hosting Chapati Festivals has become one of our key projects and we are always on the look out for new partners and institutions, that allow us the opportunity to conduct the festival on their premises. Our personnel were fully involved in preparing meals, organizing other volunteers to participate in the activity, running the sessions, and serving meals.

Achievements:
It was the first time the institution was hosting such a unique event, especially during Easter. It was spiritual, educational, and fun. We had a solid database of volunteers who decided to come and participate despite the distance and transportation costs. The institution received donations ranging from food items to sanitary towels and clothes for both male and female students.

Unanticipated Achievements:
The impressive turnout of volunteers, despite the distance, cost, and climatic conditions, was noteworthy. We were also captivated by the significant involvement and participation of the children from the orphanage in our activity. They were fully engaged, including both the younger and older ones. The staff of the institution were all hands-on, despite it being their day off.

Supporting Partners:
Ebenezer, Jijenge and soulvement,.
