Activity Purpose/ Summary:
Chapati Festival is a quarterly activity we run in partnership with Jijenge youth organization to reach out to the less privileged. It is composed of entertainment, opportunity to share delicious meal and hot chapatis as we put smile in the faces of young people from the local community.
The highlight of the event is the opportunity to interact and play games, do life’s kill session, share their challenges and have good time together.

This quarter we chose the Achego Orphanage.

Personnel Input:
We coordinated the events for the day, facilitated the execution of outdoor activities encompassing dances and games, undertook the preparation of meals (including the renowned Chapati), and conducted counseling sessions for the Achego Orphanage program beneficiaries.

Achievements:
Mobilizing the young people within the communities despite the fact that the children at the centre were on holiday sessions. They had to travel long distances to come and attend the event.

Despite the weather challenges and bad road due to heavy rains , we still managed to run the activity successfully.

The students fully participated to the days activities and they enjoyed every session.

It isn’t always an easy step for young people to open up and freely talk, but the nature of activities we designed did not deny us the opportunity to listen from them.

Unanticipated Achievements:
1)The number of participants despite the holidays.
2) despite less number of volunteers, everyone was committed to their tasks making the event run smooth.
