Activity Purpose/ Summary:
We had a class with the little kids, reviewing two topics that we had taught earlier. This was done to check whether the kids could recall what they had been taught. It was really necessary for the kids since it was like a revision/repetition, providing them with a second chance to re-learn what they had been taught earlier. This prepared the kids mentally for the exams as they now had adequate knowledge on the topics they had learned earlier. We saw that the kids were now bold enough to face the exams based on the topics.
Personnel Input:
On the 13th, we had an English class review on the topic of transport. We discussed several means of transport, examined each one, and every child mentioned at least one means of transport they knew or had encountered or used. Later, we ended the session by discussing the importance of transport.
On the 16th, we had an English class review on the topic of the environment. We discussed different aspects of the environment, such as what it is composed of (e.g., lakes, rivers, mountains, among others). We also discussed how to conserve or take care of our environment.
Achievements:
By the end of the review lessons, we observed that the kids were able to easily recall what they had been taught regarding the two topics. If you were to pick a kid at random and ask them any question based on the two topics, they could easily answer it.
Unanticipated Achievements:
Some of the kids had gone the extra mile and learned some additional new vocabularies related to transport and the environment, which we did not discuss earlier. They were now very familiar with the two topics.
