Activity Purpose/ Summary:
It was the first time for a lot of the kids in the pool, so our main goal was to encourage the kids in the water at first and build up their water confidence. We spiced up the lesson by giving the kids plenty of playtime.

Personnel Input:
We began the class by giving the kids a 5-minute playtime to help them get used to the new feeling in the water. After this, we divided the groups to make it easier for the facilitators to teach the kids swimming in smaller groups. Then we started with some easy floating exercises. The students did the different exercises with a partner, which helps them learn how to float and build trust between them and their partner. At the end, the kids had some free time to play in the water again, so a successful session came to an end.

Achievements:
The kids got their first impression of water and learned how to float on the surface. It was a great start to developing the fundamentals of swimming.

Unanticipated Achievements:
The kids were eager to learn and listened very carefully to the instructions. This was surprising to me given their young age, but it was really nice to see.
