Location: Nyalenda Football Club
Activity Date: 07.10.2023
Start Time: 2:00 PM   End Time: 3:30 PM

Facilitators: Dilara Yay, Thomas Ogalo
Number of Participants: 29
Male: 28   Female: 1

Activity Purpose/ Summary:
The training on the weekend was meant to improve the children’s individual technical skills and quality of passing in Soccer.

Personnel Input:
In Saturday’s training session, the boys were coached by coach Billy, who is the head coach of Nyalenda’s team. Tom and Dilara (BetterMe) joined and supported him while he was leading the training. He focused his training on individual technical skills which were included in different forms of passing. In the end, the children had the opportunity to show their learned skills in the end game.
The Sunday’s training was led by Dilara. We started with a warm-up which included dynamic stretching exercises and a game that trains the reaction time. We talked about the importance of reaction time during a match so that the children are conscious of the reasons we are practicing it. We repeated the tasks of the previous day to improve the double passing and introduced another form of passing which trains short and long passes as well.
At the end, the children played a game in which they got a point by passing and controlling the ball through some cone goals.

Achievements:
By repeating the tasks often they were improving their own skills (passing, individual technical skills, communication). The training teaches them how to act as a team and to learn discipline while having a structure during the time.

Unanticipated Achievements:
The boys are very disciplined and motivated. They implemented the instructions directly and tried to do their best. They are all really talented football players!
