Korando Bursary Program (136 Students)

The Korando Bursary Program stands as a beacon of hope for 136 students from vulnerable backgrounds. However, this endeavor transcends mere academics. It embraces a holistic approach to nurturing the students’ well-being, recognizing that their educational journey is intricately intertwined with their emotional and psychological growth.

The program provides:

  • High-school fee bursaries
  • Psycho-social support
  • Household visits and family counseling
  • Term Reviews and Holiday Camps
  • Sunday tutoring

Term Reviews

Three times a year we host our Term Reviews. During the reviews, we not only assess the students performance, but also provide 1 on 1 counselling, giving the students a safe space to share what is happening in their lives. Our social work team then assess the specific situation and, where nesseary, do home visists and further follow ups.

 Holiday YUMP Camps

Once a year we combine the Term Reviews with our Youth Unleashed holiday camps, giving the students a 2-3 day immersive experience with workshops and activities to nurture their minds, bodies, hearts and spirits.

Sunday Tutoring

Furthermore, our commitment extends beyond the confines of regular school days. The Korando Bursary Program extends its reach with a Sunday school initiative, specifically designed to cater to the needs of students residing in the vicinity of Korando. This additional support system bolsters their academic journey, reinforcing their foundation for a brighter future.

Every year we need to raise a budget of €25,000 to finance just the school fees for the 136 students and we couldn’t do it without our generous supporters.

Join us in making a difference, as we believe that every child deserves a chance to reach for the stars and realize their full potential.
