Activity Purpose/ Summary:
In the recent English classes, we have been building on a curriculum where the boys can progressively follow and understand the topics of study. Usually, the previous topics handled inform the next topic to be covered. As such, we were able to roll out a discussion on prepositions as elements of English grammar and to enlighten the boys on how they can single out prepositions in a sentence and also how they can apply them in forming new sentences grammatically.
Personnel Input:
We introduced the definition of prepositions and the different types of prepositions in English. For example, prepositions of place, prepositions of time, prepositions of movement, as well as those that show the relationship between objects, things, and people. Examples were listed under each category, and the boys also took part in listing a number of them after grasping the concept.
Keeping in mind that prepositions serve a specific purpose in sentences, demonstrating the relationship between one person, place, or thing and another, the boys did form a number of sentences using the prepositions correctly. This was quite incredible.
Achievements:
The introduction to the topic was quite comprehensive, giving the boys a clear understanding throughout the class. There was no struggle evident in the steps that followed.
Unanticipated Achievements:
The boys were able to recall the previous topic of discussion and how it applied to the preposition class. This was quite encouraging, especially when the facilitators wanted to determine a suitable time to introduce a test.
