Activity Purpose/ Summary:
The class started with us, the facilitators, explaining what prepositions are and providing examples to the class (e.g. in, on, under, behind). We then proceeded to do a preposition hunt, taking the boys and girls on a search around the classroom, encouraging them to find objects and describe their positions using prepositions. We finished the class by doing a word puzzle containing scrambled letters of classroom items and instructing the class to unscramble the letters.
Personnel Input:
We explained prepositions in detail to the class and took the class on a preposition hunt around the classroom.
In the last part of the class, we distributed a word puzzle worksheet containing scrambled letters of things we can find in the classroom and instructed the class to unscramble the letters to form a word.
We concluded the class by having a group discussion about the importance of understanding prepositions in everyday language and how they can be used to describe the location of objects.
Achievements:
The involvement of the young boys and girls was notably higher.
Unanticipated Achievements:
The students managed to complete the word puzzle in under 15 minutes.
