Activity Purpose/ Summary:
This theoretical lesson about swimming was a preparation for the practice lessons, which are starting next week on Monday. During this lesson, we gave the students a little overview of what is going to happen in the swimming lessons. We started off the class by explaining the importance of learning swimming in the pool and not just from books. Next, we developed the swimming rules together with the students. At the end of the lesson, we played a game called “hangman”.

Personnel Input:
We explained the process for the practice swimming class so that we have an organized class next week. Furthermore, we gave the students the opportunity to ask as many questions as they wanted, thereby reducing the fear of some of the students. Also, we explained a little bit of the technique for the first swimming lesson so that we have to explain less in the pool and can focus more on the swimming than the explaining. Besides, we introduced the term “water confidence” to the kids. This is one of the most important things for learning how to swim.

Achievements:
We have prepared the students to learn a new skill, and everything is on track for next week. Additionally, we successfully motivated the kids for the lesson and helped reduce their fear of water.

Unanticipated Achievements:
Most of the students were very enthusiastic about our upcoming trip to the swimming pool next week, and many participated actively in class.
