Activity Report

Location: Kenya Red Cross
Activity Date: 04.06.2024
Start Time: 9:00 AM   End Time: 3:00 PM

Facilitators: Kelvin
Number of Participants: 40
Male: 22   Female: 18

Activity Purpose/ Summary:
We had an opportunity to offer counseling sessions for Red Cross volunteers and staff. We held a 1-hour session of speed dating, just to give them a chance to get to know themselves better, understand the nature of their job and work environment, and learn about their limits when it comes to executing their duties. We also discussed how they connect with others despite their work schedule and how they recharge after a long day of work.

Personnel Input:
Facilitated the session, organized the space for the activity, set the mood for an open talk, and did ice-breaking activities with all the volunteers and staff.

Achievements:
Most of the staff who attended explained during the recap of the session that they had never had an opportunity to express their feelings on a one-on-one basis, so the speed dating was a great idea. Two other organizations approached us and requested a session for their staff. We are also working with the community affected by the floods in Kisumu County.

Unanticipated Achievements:
More organizations are interested in our services.

Supporting Partners:
Red Cross and Ministry Of Health, Kisumu County.
