Last week, through our life skills sessions, we en Last week, through our life skills sessions, we engaged learners from three different institutions, creating a safe and interactive space for meaningful conversations around personal growth, resilience, and everyday life experiences.

The sessions centred on one important reality challenges are part of life. What matters most is not only the obstacles we face, but our mental preparedness and ability to respond when those moments arise.

Using football as a practical learning tool, we reflected on a simple yet powerful principle: before receiving the ball, a player must first scan the field. In the same way, life requires us to stay aware, think ahead, recognize pressure, identify opportunities, and prepare for our next move before challenges come our way.

Through sports, dialogue, and guided reflection, learners actively connected these lessons to their own experiences, decision-making, relationships, and future aspirations.

Through #playforchange , supported by the @fifafoundation , we continue using sports and mentorship as tools for strengthening life skills, emotional well-being, and positive social development among young people.

Around the world, children walk into classrooms ea Around the world, children walk into classrooms each day eager to learn, grow, and discover new possibilities for their future. Yet, when teachers lack the basic materials needed for instruction, it creates barriers to effective learning and limits the classroom experience for both teachers and students.

Under the scholastic support component of the #playforchange initiative, supported by the @fifafoundation , we recently provided stationery supplies to teachers at Korando to help facilitate smooth classroom operations and create a more conducive learning environment for learners.

Small but essential resources such as pens, books, and teaching materials play an important role in strengthening learning, supporting educators, and improving the overall classroom experience for children.

Through #playforchange , we continue investing in education, opportunity, and the future potential of young people within our communities. 📚✨

As part of the second quarter implementation of th As part of the second quarter implementation of the #playforchange Project, we conducted engagement sessions with students from St. Williams and young people at the Kisumu Children Remand Home. The sessions provided an opportunity to reconnect with participants, assess their progress, and introduce the thematic focus for the upcoming phase of the program.

The engagements created a safe and interactive environment where participants openly shared their experiences, personal challenges, aspirations, and reflections from previous sessions. Through guided discussions and team-building activities, the learners demonstrated enthusiasm and willingness to continue participating in the life skills and psychosocial support activities under the project.

The sessions also strengthened the relationship between facilitators and participants, helping to build trust, confidence, and active participation moving forward.

In alignment with the objectives of the second quarter, the next phase of the program will intentionally focus on building strong personal values, understanding principles that guide responsible decision-making, and introducing the concept of delayed gratification. Over the next three weeks, participants will engage in sessions designed to help them appreciate the importance of discipline, patience, self-control, and making choices that contribute to long-term growth rather than short-term satisfaction.

Through #PlayForChange, with support from #FIFAFoundation, we continue to use sports and mentorship as tools for empowering young people and strengthening their social and emotional well-being.
