Some promises are simply too good not to keep… and Some promises are simply too good not to keep… and Lucas kept his! 💛 Six months ago, Lucas joined us as a volunteer and left with unforgettable memories, meaningful friendships, and one promise: "I'll be back... and next time, I'm bringing my partner!" Well... he wasn't joking! 😊 A few months later, we're delighted to welcome Lucas back to Better Me Kenya, this time alongside his wonderful partner. Nothing makes us happier than seeing volunteers return💫not just because they enjoyed their experience, but because they found something worth sharing with the people they love. Empowering young people with life skills is an inv Empowering young people with life skills is an investment in their future. 🌱 We had the privilege of engaging students at Siaya National Polytechnic in an interactive Life Skills session focused on building practical skills for everyday life. Together, we explored communication, decision-making, emotional intelligence, and other essential competencies that empower young people to navigate challenges with confidence and purpose. Through meaningful discussions, interactive activities, and shared experiences, students actively participated, reflected on their personal growth, and learned about the support and opportunities available through Better Me Kenya. We believe that when young people are equipped with the right skills, they are empowered to make informed decisions, build healthy relationships, and become positive change makers in their communities. #lifeskill #givingback #volunteerabroad
As we prepare for an exciting August holiday under As we prepare for an exciting August holiday under our Play4Change Initiative supported by @FIFAFOUNDATION, we are laying the groundwork for two days of meaningful engagement with children through life skills, mentorship, and sports. On Friday last week, we met with our dedicated team of coaches to plan and coordinate the upcoming activities, ensuring every session is impactful, engaging, and centered on the holistic development of every child. We believe that sport is more than just a game it's a powerful platform for building confidence, nurturing character, inspiring dreams, and equipping young people with the skills they need to thrive. We can't wait to welcome the children for two days of learning, play, mentorship, and unforgettable memories. Our incredible students took their learning outdoor, turning the open field into a classroom for life. While textbooks teach us what to know, outdoor activities and active play teach us how to grow. Through interactive group games, these young ones aren't just having fun, they're actively building essential life skills.
