In this English lesson, we brought a fresh perspective to the classroom by incorporating puzzles into our language exercises. Puzzles are incredible tools for learning because they require patience, critical thinking and a willingness to look at a problem from multiple angles. Watching the students collaborate, piece together complex ideas and articulate their strategies in English was a powerful reminder that education thrives when it is engaging and collaborative. #educationforall#youthempowerment#play4change

What a weekend in Germany! 🇩🇪💛💛🫶 From Friday to S What a weekend in Germany! 🇩🇪💛💛🫶 From Friday to Sunday, Better Me alumni from Germany 🇩🇪 , Switzerland 🇨🇭 and Austria 🇦🇹 came together for our alumni reunion. Originally we had planned to spend the weekend supporting our benefit football tournament. ⚽️Unfortunately, due to the extreme heat and the cancellation of all league tournaments this weekend, the event couldn’t take place. But often the best memories come from unexpected moments (just like in Kenya😁) So we made the most of one of the hottest weekends Germany (and much of Europe) has seen this year. ☀️☀️☀️ We cooled off at the lake and in the swimming pool 🏝️, shared barbecue evenings and pizza nights 🍕, played games and spent hours exchanging stories from our time at Korando until deep into the night. There was so much laughter, so many memories and so many reminders of why our work and community is so special. 🫶✨ A huge thank you goes to Lukas and his family, who welcomed us into their home and took such incredible care of everyone throughout the weekend. Your hospitality made this reunion truly unforgettable! ❤️ Moments like these remind us that volunteering doesn’t end when you leave Kenya. Our alumni remain part of a global family, a network of people who continue to support one another, build lifelong friendships and stay connected to the mission long after their stay has ended. To everyone who joined us: thank you for making this weekend so special. We can’t wait to see you again! This weekend was supposed to be something special. This weekend was supposed to be something special. 💛⚽ For months, an incredible team of volunteers planned a charity football tournament in Southern Germany 🇩🇪 to support Better Me and the children and young people we work with in Kenya. Unfortunately, due to the extreme heat, the football association cancelled all league tournaments this weekend for the safety of everyone involved. As a result, our benefit tournament will not take place. 😞 While we’re grateful that everyone’s wellbeing comes first, we’re also heartbroken. The event wasn’t just about football, it was an important opportunity to raise funds that help keep our programmes running and ensure children continue to receive education, meals, care, and opportunities. One beautiful thing is still happening: our Better Me volunteer alumni from Germany 🇩🇪, Austria 🇦🇹 and Switzerland 🇨🇭 decided to come together this weekend to reconnect, share memories, and celebrate the community we’ve built over the years, even without the tournament. Seeing them together reminds us that Better Me has always been powered by people who care. 🫶 Now we’re asking for your support.
