It is a space to belong, build confidence, learn discipline, and discover what they are capable of. Through our #play4change programme, Better Me Kenya uses sport as a pathway to personal development and stronger communities. Training sessions and tournaments create opportunities for children to develop teamwork, leadership, resilience, and life skills while enjoying the simple joy of play. But meaningful participation requires more than football. It requires safe spaces, trained coaches, equipment, and consistent support. A stronger tomorrow. 💛 Through our Meals for Children in Kenya programme, Better Me Kenya provides nutritious, freshly prepared meals to children at the Korando Educational Centre, helping create a supportive environment where they can learn, play, and grow. For many of the children, the meals we provide are an important source of daily nourishment. Your support helps us continue providing food with care and dignity, ensuring that children have the nourishment they need to participate in school and community activities. Every contribution makes a difference. Better Me Kenya was honoured to be part of the 3rd Better Me Kenya was honoured to be part of the 3rd Edition of the Kisumu Children Remand Home Fun Day, held from 21–22 August, organised through our #Playforchange initiative alongside fellow organisations, community partners, and youth-led initiatives. For two days, the children stepped away from their usual routine and into a space filled with play, creativity, friendship, learning, and belonging. Through special joint sessions, they had the opportunity to interact with school-going children from different organisations, share meals, play games, participate in sports, explore arts and crafts, and simply enjoy being together. Through Play for Change, we believe that play is more than recreation—it is a powerful way to bring children and communities together, foster social connection, build confidence, and create spaces where every child can feel included and valued. Beyond the activities, these moments created something even more meaningful—a reminder that every child deserves to feel seen, valued, included, and part of a community that cares. We are grateful to the Kisumu Children Remand Home Partners and all organisations and community stakeholders who came together to make this experience possible. Because sometimes, creating a sense of belonging starts with something as simple as playing, learning, sharing a meal, and laughing together. 💛 Every child deserves a reason to smile. We had the privilege of hosting the FKF (Football We had the privilege of hosting the FKF (Football Kenya Federation 🇰🇪⚽️) Kisumu West Youth Representative and the FKF Kisumu County Vice Chairperson for a productive courtesy visit. The meeting came at the perfect time as we continue planning our upcoming Play4Change activities, proudly supported by the @fifafoundation . Together, we explored ways to strengthen our partnership and harness the power of football to create safe spaces where children can learn, grow, and thrive. At Better Me Kenya, we believe that sport is more than just a game it’s a powerful tool for mentorship, life skills development, inclusion, and positive social change. By working hand in hand with key stakeholders like the Football Kenya Federation, we are building a stronger grassroots football ecosystem that empowers young people both on and off the pitch.
