Today, we join the rest of Africa in commemorating the Day of the African Child under the theme:
"Ensuring universal access to water, sanitation, and hygiene for every child in Africa."

Every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive in an environment that is safe, healthy, and dignified. Yet for many children across the continent, limited access to clean water, adequate sanitation, and proper hygiene facilities continues to impact their health, education, and overall well-being.

Access to WASH services is more than a basic need, it is a foundation for protecting children's health, improving school attendance, promoting dignity, and creating opportunities for a brighter future.

As we reflect on the rights and potential of every African child, we reaffirm our commitment to supporting initiatives that create safer, healthier, and more inclusive environments where children can reach their full potential.

Young people do not experience social issues in isolation, they are shaped by the environments, conversations, and information that surround them every day.

In response to the current challenges affecting school-going youth, we continue to create intentional spaces for dialogue, reflection, and learning through our Situation Room discussions. These sessions provide learners with the opportunity to explore current social issues, examine their underlying causes, and reflect on the impact such challenges have on individuals, families, and communities.

By encouraging critical thinking, active participation, and respectful dialogue, we support young people to better understand the world around them while strengthening the values, skills, and perspectives needed to make informed decisions.

At Better Me Kenya, we believe that empowering young people with knowledge, guidance, and safe spaces for expression is essential to building resilient communities and nurturing a generation of responsible, engaged, and compassionate citizens.
