Strong partnerships are strengthened not only through strategy and planning, but also through shared experiences that nurture teamwork, well-being, and mutual respect. Meet Wesley✨ Wesley Omondi has successfully compl Meet Wesley✨ Wesley Omondi has successfully completed his secondary education with a mean grade of C+, marking the culmination of a long-term support journey that began in 2017. Like Peter, Wesley joined the program while in Grade 4, during a period when financial instability at home placed his schooling at risk. Through sustained school fees support, Wesley remained consistently enrolled and was able to sit for his national examinations without interruption. “When I joined the program in Grade 4, I did not know how I would finish school. The financial support removed a very big burden from my family and allowed me to stay in school consistently. However, the intervention extended far beyond financial assistance. Through structured mindset sessions, life skills classes, and end-of-term academic reviews, Wesley received continuous mentorship and performance guidance. These structured check-ins created space to assess progress, identify academic gaps, and strengthen learning strategies contributing directly to improved focus, resilience, and overall performance. Over the years, Wesley developed stronger self-confidence, disciplined personal conduct, and emerging leadership skills. His journey reflects the measurable impact of combining educational sponsorship with psychosocial support and structured mentorship. “But beyond the fees, the mentorship and life skills sessions changed how I see myself. The academic reviews helped me understand where I was improving and where I needed to work harder. I learned discipline, confidence, and how to set goals for my future. In partnership with Sapphire Community Group, our In partnership with Sapphire Community Group, our team led by Dario delivered a targeted financial empowerment session for young women from the local community, designed to strengthen decision-making capacity around money management. Using a practical financial simulation exercise, participants navigated real-life scenarios involving income generation, saving, spending, investment thinking, and borrowing risks. The structured activity allowed us to assess financial reasoning, risk awareness, and planning behaviours in a guided environment. Key learning outcomes included: • Increased understanding of saving as a pathway to financial security • Improved awareness of interest-earning opportunities and long-term growth • Strengthened caution around high-risk borrowing and unplanned debt Beyond knowledge transfer, the session focused on building financial confidence, critical thinking, and future-oriented planning — core competencies that contribute to long-term economic resilience. Meet Peter. ✨ Peter Omondi Oduor has been part of Meet Peter. ✨ Peter Omondi Oduor has been part of Dolfine Korando Faith Org. and Better Me family since 2017. What began as support during a period of financial instability has grown into a story of resilience, discipline, and achievement. This year, Peter successfully completed his secondary education with a mean grade of B-. Coming from a background where school fees posed a significant challenge, joining the Better Me program enabled him to stay in school consistently. Beyond financial support, the life skills sessions played a transformative role in shaping his courage, discipline, and strong work ethic. “When the results were released, I felt happy and proud. My achievement brought joy to my family and renewed their belief in my potential and determination,” Peter shares. Peter now aspires to pursue Clinical Medicine and become a Clinical Officer so he can serve communities and support those suffering from diseases and epidemics extending the same spirit of help that was extended to him. “I am deeply grateful to the sponsors and supporters who walked this journey with me. I encourage you to continue supporting other students.
