Activity Purpose/ Summary:
The school extended a special invitation to us through our partnering organization, Jijenge Youth Organization, to hold a session with the Grade 6, 7, and 8 students. We arrived a few minutes before the scheduled time, and all the students had already gathered. After the entire team introduced themselves, we proceeded to engage with the students.

Our session focused on the topic of wellness and lasted about 45 minutes. As part of the activity, we handed out pieces of paper for the students to anonymously write down whom they loved, whom they disliked, and their reasons. This exercise was integrated into the wellness talk to encourage reflection and emotional awareness.

Personnel Input:
We discussed wellness in three key areas: physical, mental, and spiritual. In times of crisis or challenge, a tool is typically developed to help address the situation. A fitting example we used was the introduction of the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) by the Kenyan government, which aimed to resolve challenges in the education system. This helped students understand the importance of having the right tool for any given situation.

During the session, we used an ecomap to help students explore and understand their relationships, the nature of those connections, and how they impact their lives. It was fascinating for the students to realize that the assessment was enhancing their self-awareness.

Achievements:
An opportunity to continue conducting sessions within the school.

Unanticipated Achievements:
The students were so open-minded, especially when compared to experiences with other schools.
