Activity Purpose/ Summary:
Teaching the kids how to swim.

Personnel Input:
First, we started with five minutes of free swimming to help everyone get used to the water. Then, the kids swam individually to assess their swimming abilities. We found that only the three bigger boys could swim already, so they were able to go in the big pool while the rest stayed in the small one.

Next, we taught the kids a new swimming technique called the frog. We explained that they needed to partner up and practice together by holding their partner at the tummy so the other one could float and practice their leg movements. We also helped the kids practice their leg movements by gently pushing their legs to help them feel the technique.

Some kids were still afraid of the water, so I focused on helping them get used to it by doing some small splash exercises and going under the water together.

Achievements:
We saw a lot of improvement with many kids; they were very proud of themselves. We were able to send some of the older kids to the big pool, where they practiced with Teacher Frank.

However, I need to mention that there were quite a lot of kids, maybe too many for this age group. The kids needed a lot of supervision and support, so it might be better to split this group into two smaller groups.

Unanticipated Achievements:
The kids were very proud and motivated to learn how to swim.
