Start Time: 3:00 PM   End Time: 4:00 PM

Number of Participants: 30
Male: 15   Female: 15

Activity Purpose/ Summary:
Practiced essential skills and swimming with students!

Personnel Input:
Once in the pool, the class was divided between students who could already swim and those who were still learning. Most of the class could swim, so I had them practice swimming the length of the pool. For the students who couldn’t swim yet, we worked on kicking, keeping our legs straight, and the butterfly technique in different ways. Eventually, all the students came together and paired up to practice floating. We also shared pool noodles and emphasized the need to push your hips forward to keep your body straight like a plank.

Achievements:
Many students are able to swim, with others making good progress. More and more students are even able to float!

Unanticipated Achievements:
How many students can swim and were able to float by the end of the class?
