Activity Purpose/ Summary:
Better Me, through its Play4Change and Life Skills programs, participated in the Sports Competition held at Tieng’re School to promote holistic learner development. The event brought together around 1,400 learners who took part in a variety of sporting activities while also receiving practical life skills lessons. The competition highlighted teamwork, discipline, respect, leadership, resilience, and fair play. Learners were encouraged to get involved, build confidence, and appreciate the value of positive behavior both on and off the sports field.
Personnel Input:
Better Me Personnel organized participants into different sports, ensured fair play, and motivated learners throughout the competitions, while emphasizing the importance of teamwork, discipline, respect, and positive behavior. They also guided participants through brief life skills discussions, encouraged inclusivity, and made sure all activities were conducted safely and successfully.
Achievements:
Promoted teamwork, discipline, leadership, and sportsmanship among participants. Increased learners’ confidence and active participation in both sports and group discussions. Strengthened collaboration between Better Me and Tieng’re Primary School. Fostered an enjoyable and inclusive environment that encouraged equal participation from both boys and girls.
Unanticipated Achievements:
One encouraging outcome was the overwhelming enthusiasm shown by learners throughout the event. Many pupils who were initially shy became actively involved in the competitions, showing confidence and teamwork. Teachers also joined in by supporting the games and encouraging learners, which really boosted morale and created a stronger sense of school unity.
