Activity Purpose/ Summary:
As part of the second quarter implementation of the Play for Change Project, we held an engagement session with students from St. Williams and young people at the Kisumu Children Remand Home. This session was a great opportunity to reconnect with participants, assess their progress, and introduce the thematic focus for the next phase of the program. We created a safe and interactive space where participants felt comfortable sharing their experiences, personal challenges, aspirations, and reflections from previous sessions. Through guided discussions and team activities, the learners showed enthusiasm and a genuine willingness to continue participating in the life skills and psychosocial support activities offered by the project. The session also helped strengthen the relationship between facilitators and participants, building trust, confidence, and encouraging active participation moving forward.
Personnel Input:
In alignment with the objectives for the second quarter, the next three weeks of the program will focus on building strong personal values, understanding the principles that guide responsible decision-making, and introducing the concept of delayed gratification. These sessions are designed to help participants appreciate the importance of discipline, patience, self-control, and making choices that support long-term growth over short-term satisfaction.
Achievements:
Starting on a high note and capturing the attention of the participants.
Unanticipated Achievements:
Their reaction to certain laws they were unaware of, as well as their response to the examples we provided when defining values.
Supporting Partners:
St, William’s and KCRH
