Activity Purpose/ Summary:
Today’s activity focused on self-reflection, exploring the concept of self-awareness, personal strengths, and areas for improvement. The discussion aimed to help students understand self-reflection and how it can enhance personal growth. Students were encouraged to openly discuss their strengths and challenges while seeking advice on addressing these challenges. The main purpose of this activity was to encourage reflection on one’s feelings, thoughts, and actions, helping them identify areas for improvement and practice ways to work on these areas with examples.

Personnel Input:
We led the discussion by introducing the concept of self-reflection and guiding students through exercises to identify their strengths and weaknesses. We provided a safe and supportive environment where students felt comfortable sharing their thoughts and feelings. We shared our own stories and examples to encourage students to open up and share their thoughts, strengths, or insecurities. We offered advice on managing and improving personal challenges, such as anger management, coping with the loss of parents, and dealing with bullying or mistreatment.

Achievements:
Students were highly engaged in the discussion, leading to a very interactive session where many participated with different examples and asked numerous questions about handling situations like anger, frustration, bullying, and sadness. We explored various ways to reflect, cope with insecurities, and use our strengths to improve weaknesses. They openly shared their personal strengths and weaknesses. Several students sought advice on handling personal difficulties, such as emotional challenges related to being an orphan or issues with bullying. Students demonstrated self-awareness and a willingness to improve, asking for practical tips on dealing with their weaknesses.

Unanticipated Achievements:
Some students showed deeper emotional vulnerability than anticipated, asking about dealing with bullying or emotional distress. This led to a more profound and supportive group conversation. The students expressed a desire for continued discussions on emotional well-being, self-improvement, anger management, and more, highlighting an unexpected interest in ongoing personal development sessions.
