Our internships offer you a really unique and adventurous opportunity to join an inspiring bunch of people in Kenya and support an innovative grassroots organization, aiming to empower young individuals with the skills and tools to bring about positive change for themselves and their communities!

Our Programs:

Internship vs. Volunteer Program

Intern (Internship): This is a trainee, who signs on with Better Me for a specific period of minimum 12 weeks, for an unpaid position with 40 working hours per week. Better Me internships provide a professional learning experience that offers meaningful and practical work related to a student’s field of study or career interest. Our internship gives a student the opportunity for career exploration and development, and to learn new skills. An intern’s goal is to gain work experience, occasionally some university credit, and always an overall feel for the industry they’re interning in. An intern with Better Me has a specified person within the organization (or with our partners) whom they shadow and who acts as their mentor and supervisor. 

Volunteer Program: Volunteering is simply the act of “voluntarily” giving your time and energy to help our cause. Our volunteer program opens the possibility for any person of any age and from any background to travel to Kenya and share their experiences with our beneficiaries. We designed the volunteer experience for open-minded people, who are ready to unlearn common misconceptions and replace those with powerful knowledge, invaluable tools, and real-life experience. Volunteering is great for individuals who have spare time during their vacation and those who have just completed their school and are in their gap years. Volunteers have more freedom to create passion projects with the support of the organization and enjoy great flexibility in their volunteering hours and duration of their stay – starting with minimum 2 weeks.
