Activity Purpose/ Summary:
The Relationships as Life Skills session was designed to help learners understand the meaning of relationships, the different types they encounter in daily life, and the importance of maintaining healthy and respectful interactions with others. Through discussions, practical examples, and active participation, learners explored family, friendship, school, and community relationships. The session highlighted communication, respect, trust, empathy, and conflict resolution as essential elements of healthy relationships.

Personnel Input:
Better Me personnel facilitated the session by introducing relationships as an essential life skill and guiding learners through interactive discussions. The facilitators shared real-life examples, encouraged participation, answered questions, and led activities to help participants identify positive and negative relationship behaviors. They also mentored learners on effective communication, mutual respect, decision-making, and responsible behavior when interacting with peers, family members, and the wider community.

Achievements:
Increased participants’ understanding of different types of relationships and their importance.
Enhanced awareness of the qualities that build healthy and positive relationships.
Improved participants’ communication and interpersonal skills through discussion and interaction.
Encouraged learners to reflect on their own relationships and identify areas for growth.

Unanticipated Achievements:
A positive surprise was the high level of participation and openness shown by the learners. Many participants confidently shared personal experiences and practical examples of relationships from their homes, schools, and communities. The discussion highlighted strong peer support among learners, and several participants expressed interest in becoming role models for promoting healthy relationships within their social circles.
