Activity Purpose/ Summary:
The training and capacity-building workshop served as an orientation for new facilitators and as a refresher course for existing facilitators already engaging with learners. The main goal was to create a shared understanding of the vision and purpose of the FIFA Life Skills project, clarify the role of facilitators beyond sports activities, and highlight how Better Me Kenya programs align with the project. The workshop also covered practical facilitation expectations, safeguarding, learner engagement, the importance of consistency, effective reporting, and creating a positive impact.
Personnel Input:
Organized the training and facilitated the process, starting with an introduction to our organization and what we do for the new facilitators. Guided them through the full concept and workplan of the Play 4 Change Project, which we are running in partnership with the FIFA Foundation. Emphasized the importance of the refresher training and capacity building, as well as the expected outcomes for mentors and coaches. Also highlighted the use of reporting tools and the importance of accurate reporting.
Achievements:
Mobilizing new facilitators and inviting new coaches to participate in the activity, while understanding the challenges they face as they carry out their roles in the community.
