Activity Purpose/ Summary:
The activity aimed to improve the children’s English language skills through fun and interactive alphabetical quiz games. Participants took part in spelling activities, word recognition, alphabet arrangement, pronunciation practice, and teamwork exercises that encouraged active participation and learning. The session also promoted confidence, communication skills, critical thinking, and positive social interaction among the children at the Remand Home. The games created an enjoyable and engaging learning environment that kept everyone involved throughout the session.
Personnel Input:
Better Me personnel facilitated the entire activity by organizing and leading the alphabetical quiz games, guiding participants through the exercises, encouraging teamwork, and ensuring active participation from all children. The facilitators also offered mentorship, motivation, and educational support while fostering a friendly and inclusive environment that promoted learning and built confidence among the participants.
Achievements:
Improved participants’ confidence in spelling, pronunciation, and alphabet recognition. Fostered teamwork, cooperation, and healthy competition among the children. Created a positive and engaging learning environment that encouraged participation from both boys and girls. Helped strengthen communication and social interaction skills among participants.
Unanticipated Achievements:
Some participants who were initially shy became highly active and confident during the games. The activity also revealed hidden talents in spelling, leadership, and quick thinking among several children. Additionally, the enthusiasm and cooperation from participants exceeded expectations, making the session even more enjoyable and impactful.
