Activity Purpose/ Summary:
On Friday, we held an English lesson with the older boys at the Remand home, focusing on leisure activities. The session included an assessment to evaluate their grammar skills and the practical use of vocabulary related to leisure and recreation. To encourage inclusivity and engagement, the boys were divided into ten groups of three, promoting collaborative learning. The lesson featured quizzes and interactive exercises, ensuring that all students participated actively and gained a better understanding of the topic.

Personnel Input:
The facilitators played a crucial role in designing the lesson plan and crafting the assessment activities. During the session, they facilitated group discussions, provided guidance to ensure the quizzes were completed effectively, and monitored group dynamics to encourage equal participation.

Achievements:
The session led to several key achievements. Students demonstrated significant improvement in their understanding and use of vocabulary related to leisure activities. Their grammar skills also benefited from the group-based learning approach, which encouraged peer interaction and feedback.

Unanticipated Achievements:
An unexpected yet positive outcome was the emergence of leadership qualities among some students. These individuals naturally stepped into the role of guiding their groups and ensuring everyone participated. Moreover, students who initially lacked confidence were encouraged by their peers to contribute, resulting in increased participation and a boost in self-assurance.
