Activity Purpose/ Summary:
On Thursday, we had an engaging and creative session with the children at Korando, focusing on optical art. The activity involved drawing their hands and creating optical illusions, allowing them to explore artistic techniques that play with perception and depth. The session encouraged creativity and self-expression as the children experimented with different bright colors of their choice, making each piece unique and vibrant.
Personnel Input:
As facilitators, we guided the children through the process by demonstrating how to outline their hands and apply shading and patterns to create the illusion effect. We provided support and motivation, ensuring they understood the concept while allowing them the freedom to personalize their artwork. Our role was to inspire confidence in their artistic abilities, encourage patience, and celebrate their progress throughout the session.
Achievements:
Many of them quickly grasped the concept and creatively incorporated their own ideas, leading to impressive final pieces. Their ability to blend colors and apply different line techniques showcased their growing confidence and skill in art.
Unanticipated Achievements:
Some children took the initiative to help their friends refine their work, share color choices, and offer encouragement to one another.
